Media Release - Check out the new GASAA
The Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia has undertaken an extreme (and painless) "make-over", with the help of leading design agency, The Glasshouse.
The new logo and look represents the positive changes in GASAA and the diverse make-up of its membership. Adopting contemporary design, typography and the use of earthy tones, the work of The Glasshouse crystalises the important message of GASAA - an association providing the link between creation and output.
Wayne McDougall, National President of GASAA said “The association is excited about the new direction and vibrant, new look for GASAA”. |

Brand Development Director, Julia Scott - The Glasshouse, commented, "As a recently joined member of GASAA, we have been impressed by the way it has helped our creative people understand the key issues surrounding output. We are more than pleased to be able to give back some of our time to the development of a new look for GASAA."
Garry Knespal, Executive Officer of GASAA said "The excellent design work that has been done, will now be advanced with a personalised direct marketing campaign to the graphic arts industry, inviting all to come onboard the new GASAA. With our low-cost membership fees, significantly discounted software/training and our moderated tech forum, GASAA membership is appealing to large and small companies providing creative and print services."

Fuji Xerox Nuvera 120 arrives
Fuji Xerox Australia (FXA) has launched the Nuvera 120 Digital Production System designed for high-volume production printing - with average monthly recommended page volumes from 100,000 to 1.5 million pages, and duty cycles ranging to as high as 3.5 million – the Nuvera 120 Digital Production System prints on both stocks from 56-216gsm and offers halftone density of up to 156 lines per inch (lpi), which provides high-quality imaging output.
The Nuvera 120 Digital Production System prints up to 120 A4 pages per minute, or 72 A3 impressions per minute. It is available as a print-only device, or with a choice of a centralised or distributed scanning workflow.
The Nuvera 120 Digital Production System can be ordered with an integrated 120 page-per-minute scanner, the fastest, highest quality scanner on the market, scanning 600x600 dots per inch at 120 impressions per minute, simplex or duplex, or with the new remote FreeFlow Scanner 665. The FreeFlow Scanner 665 scans as fast as 65 ppm with an automatic image enhancement capability that virtually eliminates the need to edit scanned images.
Patented ‘non-contact’ SmartPress imaging technology delivers the benchmark image quality, with the SmartPress Sentry system continuously monitoring and adjusting image quality to improve performance and reliability. Print resolution is 4800 x 600 dpi; and screens range from 85 to 156 lpi, including a 134-lpi setting that meets the typical offset job specification for 130 lpi or greater.
Operators can choose from widely used publishing data streams, such as Adobe PostScript Level 3, PDF and multi-page TIFF. In addition, the Xerox DocuSP controller provides a common operator interface allowing for local and remote printing on any of the 32 DocuSP-driven Xerox production printers.
The Nuvera Digital Production System has a wide range of finishing options. The standard configuration offers a 5000 sheet stacker, while optional finishing systems include stacking/stapling, booklet making, square fold stitching and perfect binding. An integrated read/write CD drive provides automatic CD archiving of production jobs as part of the printing process and lets operators print jobs directly from CD or DVD.
