GASAA quick poll shows Adobe CS5 needs to make up ground
With Adobe CS5 just launched, it would seem the industry has some catching up to do according to the most recent GASAA 10 second online poll, which still shows CS3 as the most used version among respondents.
The GASAA quick survey revealed almost 3 out of every 5 (58.3%) respondents were still running Adobe CS3 or below. The study conducted just before the launch of the latest Creative Suite Upgrade (CS5) showed that CS4, while popular with 37.9% of respondents, lagged marginally behind CS3 (44.8%). This mix will change of course in the months ahead as users start upgrading to CS5.
Garry Knespal, Executive Officer of GASAA, said that “businesses should not fall too far behind the upgrade path, not only as they miss-out on new features it does get more expensive to purchase older upgrades and eventually there comes a point (currently 3 upgrades with Adobe) when the upgrade is not possible and its back to buying full versions of software”.
The GASAA 10 second polls are updated monthly at www.gasaa.asn.au and are designed to give a snap shot of both business and technical trends.
